Hello! My name is Rhiannon, I am an author, yoga instructor, chaos coordinator, student, and dog parent among many other things. I found yoga many years ago as a young mother of three. I've been hooked ever since and now I have some certifications. At the moment I have a 200 RYT, a 500 hour YTT in Kundalini Yoga, and I am currently working on finishing the 500 hour RYT along with a certification in restorative yoga. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D and yoga is my support system as I do all the things that keep my life going and keep me writing.
Yes. You can absolutely do yoga in your bed! Not standing yoga, most of those balancing poses would be dangerous on a bed. But, there are a ton of poses that can be done sitting or lying down. Technically, that includes some of the standing poses, you just do them lying down. The fun thing about bed yoga is that you may find that it gives your body a little more space to be in a pose if you aren't trying to stay upright at the same time.
It is the level you start with, and in my practice it takes into account where you are in life. What body you have. Your energy levels. Your strength. The abilities you have. Al of our bodies are different and the biggest secret in the fitness industry is that there is no single beginner level. There is only the level you start at and that may not be where a particular instructor thinks beginner is.
